Fed: Drug prices won't rise, says Howard
CANBERRA, Feb 9 AAP - Drug prices would not rise under the trade deal between Australia
and the United States, Prime Minister John Howard said today.
Details remain scant on how the deal will affect Australia's unique drug subsidy program,
the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
The Australian government said the PBS listing process would become more transparent
and timely but the cost of prescription drugs would not rise.
The Office of the US Trade Representative revealed the establishment of an independent
process to review listing decisions, …
